Von am 26. November 2010

Starting in the fall, for the first time the winners of the “Ideas against poverty” competition will receive support from the MBA students at the WU Executive Academy, the business school of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The focus is also on social entrepreneurship for the first time with the compulsory subject “Ethics and CSR.”

“We ask our MBA participants to make their experience, t heir networks and their knowledge available to the winners and to support them in the implementation of their concepts,” explains Verena Hergel, Deputy Managing Director of the WU Executive Academy. Professor of Nonprofit Management Michael Meyer, who also sits on the jury, will steer the cooperative work. The “Ideas against poverty” initiative supports the implementation of social projects for both battling and preventing poverty in Austria.

Taught within the core curriculum of the Professional MBA, the two-day “Ethics and CSR” module also features a focus on social entrepreneurship for the first time. “Best practice” examples from social enterprises are presented and are discussed and further developed with the participants.
