Bärbel Schwertfeger is providing the German business education scene a great service with her blog: the MBA is a very important educational pathway worldwide, but it is insufficiently understood in Germany. Moreover, MBA education, currently seen as somewhat “mature,” will undergo significant changes in the next decade, in a decentralized and experimental innovative evolution spread across many competing institutions. Bärbel Schwertfeger provides an overview of ongoing events and offers helpful commentary. This is worth following even from abroad.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Loch is Director (Dean) of the Cambridge Judge Business School. Prior to joining the school in 2011, Professor Loch was the GlaxoSmithKline Chaired Professor of Corporate Innovation, Professor of Technology and Operations Management and Dean of the PhD Programme (2006-2009) at INSEAD, Fontainebleau. From 2009 to 2010 he was Visiting Professor of Operations Management at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden, and in 2002 and 2003 Visiting Professor in the Information Dynamics Lab at Hewlett Packard Labs in Palo Alto, California. In the early 1990s, before joining INSEAD, he worked as Associate at McKinsey & Company (San Francisco and Munich), and as Strategic Analyst at Siemens AG in Munich. Professor Loch has a degree as Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur (Darmstadt Institute of Technology), an MBA (University of Tennessee, Knoxville) and a PhD (Stanford Graduate School of Business).
